Our school opened its doors as International Air Academy in 1979 when our founder, Arch Miller, put to work his many years of experience in the airline industry to teach others. Miller began his own career by attending a travel school. He got his first job as a ramp agent and later moved on to reservations. Miller worked his way up to staff vice presidency at Hughes Airwest, now part of Northwest Airlines, before opening his own training school in Vancouver, Washington.

The success of International Air Academy led to campuses in St. Louis, MO, Ontario, CA, Baltimore, MD and Seattle, WA. In 1999, Miller’s daughters, Lynn Rullman and Suzy Taylor, took over as co-presidents and now share the responsibilities of operating the academy.

In 2004, the co-presidents decided to expand on the schools success with new training programs in culinary arts and hospitality management. The campus expanded to beautiful sites on Fort Vancouver Historic Reserve where students can gain hands-on experience through training at a fully operational restaurant and event hall.

In 2009, the company launched it's new Wind Turbine Technician course. Now, more students with a greater range of interests can launch their careers at International Air and Hospitality Academy, a highly regarded school with a national reputation as a leader in the industry.
